Steve Cordle

Steve Cordle is the senior and founding pastor of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Oakdale (suburban Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania.

Crossroads Church is a growing, cell-based, multi-campus congregation with six weekly worship services in two locations.

Cordle has led seminars on cell group ministry both in the United States and Europe, and consults with other pastors who are seeking to establish cell-based congregations.
He is the author of The Church in Many Houses (Abingdon, 2005), and was a contributor to the Study Guide for Joel Comiskey’s book Home Cell Group Explosion. Steve also serves on the Board of Cell Church Solutions.

Cordle is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary (M. Div) and United Theological Seminary (D. Min).

Steve and his wife Linda are parents of Joshua (who is married to Christina), Jonathan, and Daniel.

"We are committed to becoming a church of small groups." "Life-change happens best in small groups." "Everyone needs authentic community." These statements, and others like them, are heard often in churches around the country. Small groups have become a big deal. Churches desiring to help members connect relationally and to grow in discipleship have turned to the small group (5 to15 people meeting regularly in a home) paradigm. They have hired small group directors, highlighted groups in sermons, and promoted groups in their ministry strategy.
