Darryl's Dilemma

Darryl’s church is starting church-wide small group emphasis. This particular campaign is similar to another campaign the church did a little over a year ago. Darryl’s small group followed the first campaign along with the rest of the groups in the church the first time they did it. This time, the group is being asked by the church to follow along with the other small groups again, but Darryl’s group is balking. They feel like it was good for the group the first time around, but they don’t want to cover old ground again. Besides they are in the midst of long-term study and don’t want to interrupt it. Darryl has mixed emotions. He knows the group opting out of this church-wide emphasis will create some tension between him and the church leadership. Yet, he doesn’t feel compelled to force his group to follow the church-wide campaign because he knows that will create tension between him and his group members.

If you were Darryl, what would you do?
