Position: Adult Ministries Director/Small Groups Pastor

Adult Ministries Director/Community Groups Pastor - Christ Community Church is a vibrant, innovative and growing ministry of 4,500+ in the western suburbs of Chicago. We are seeking a servant leader who is responsible for providing directional leadership, shepherding, and team building as needed for the development, growth and management of all adult ministries within Christ Community Church, including Men’s, Women’s, Sports, Elevation, Couples, and 60’s Plus. In addition this position also oversees the vision and direction for Community Groups. A strong passion and giftedness in leadership, shepherding, outreach, and team building are needed for the development, management and propulsion of these adults. The right individual must have sound biblical knowledge, large group teaching proficiency. A B.A. degree in Biblical Studies with a seminary education preferred; 3-5 years of large church experience preferred in Adult Ministries, preferably in a multiple staff including Community Groups or discipleship of Adults, with experience in recruiting, creating, developing and deploying volunteer teams.

Small Group Intern: Kihei, Maui, Hawaii

In August 2008 through August 2009 we seek an intern (18yr-26yr) to join our staff to grow our church smaller while growing larger by connecting the Hope Chapel family into small groups to experience . . .

  • A place to belong and develop personal relationships with others.
  • A place for support and care such as in a time of crisis.
  • A place to hear and interact with God's Word so that we don't spiritually stray but become fully devoted followers of Christ.

"Small Group/College & Career Age Intern" Job description:

The Small Group/College & Career Age Intern position assists in all the major projects and ongoing ministry tasks to fulfill the mission/purposes of the small group and college age ministry. This would include such responsibilities as:

  • Overseeing and facilitating "Small Group" informational tables after weekend services.
  • Making weekly follow up phone calls to visitors and newcomers to connect them into the Hope Chapel family.
  • Overseeing our quarterly beach baptisms and specifically to follow up on the candidates and help them in their growth in Christ.
  • Creating and updating small group promotional brochures and other publications.
  • Updating small group happenings on the web page and calendar of events.
  • Assist Jason in the preparation for Hope Chapel School of the Bible.
  • Assists the leadership of the College/Career-age ministry.
  • Be involved in weekly leadership planning meetings.
  • Attend, rally and support the weekly college-age main event.
  • Have the opportunity to lead or co-lead a midweek growth group where their leadership and teaching gifts will be utilized.

We are looking for an intern with a pastoral heart, who desires to see new Christians grow and unconnected Christians to become networked into the Body of Christ. He or she must be relational with a people-oriented gift mix. This intern must have an "inviter and includer" mentality - that is, one who takes the initiative by reaching out to people in all the different events and settings in our church.

Community Life Pastor, Redding, CA

How would you like to live and minister in nature’s playground, where hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, paddling, and outdoor recreation are a significant way of life?  Neighborhood Church of Redding, California is located in an outdoor recreational paradise.  And we are seeking an experienced, radical-at-heart Community Life Pastor to help bring our small group life to the next level.

Qualifications

The top two professional needs for the position are that this person has the ability to create an effective leadership team and build a vibrant and growing small group ministry.
The Community Life Pastor (CLP) must understand how organizations function, how to inspire and motivate people, how to cast a vision with a contagious enthusiasm, and how to work with a mature executive team. The Community Life Pastor must have proven leadership capability.
Other professional and personal characteristics needed:
-    Fulfills the biblical qualifications for church leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9);
-    Agrees completely with Neighborhood Church’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Doctrinal Statement.
-    While being a self-confident person, is also seen by those close to him as humble and having a servant's attitude;
-    Inspires and empowers the church staff and lay people; shares authority easily;
-    Has genuine warmth and people enjoy being around him; is sensitive to others and never offensive;
-    Mentors and disciples others;
-    Has a high level of energy, yet balances long hours with the time he needs for his own walk with God, appropriate time for his family, and personal time for refreshment and diversion;
-    Is a spiritual example, privately and corporately, in his prayer life, Biblical study, and personal behavior;
-    Is missions-minded for the Lord's work through Neighborhood Church to reach our entire region and the whole world.
-    Is open to change, wants to improve and grow, and wants others to as well; teachable spirit
-    Has a four-year college degree or equivalent experience; preferably a seminary degree or masters in management/leadership.
