This four-session course will encourage you as you fight the heart-wrenching spiritual battle for your child. Written by a parent with a prodigal child, this wise author reminds us that parents of prodigals learn to face a different reality. We're in the middle of a battle with our own child, while grieving the loss of a dream. But to survive and move forward, we first have to face the hard realities. This course deals with those realities as it encourages us to set clearly defined boundaries, develop new strategies of praying, and focus on the promises of God. Consider doing this course with others who are struggling with a prodigal.
Session 1
Just the Facts
Parents of prodigals learn to face a different reality.
The facts about living with a prodigal are often difficult to embrace. We're right in the middle of a battle with our own child, while grieving the loss of a dream. But to survive and move forward, we first have to face the hard realities.
Session 2
Set the Boundaries
Living with a prodigal requires clearly defined boundaries.
Utilizing the concept of boundaries helps us determine the borders of parenting and sends clear signals to our children. But how do we set those boundaries? Are the boundaries just for our children or are they also for us?
Session 3
Go to War
As we pray, we can learn new strategies that will help us fight for our prodigals.
In this battle, God may require more of us than we have already given. Our prayers don't seem to be working, and we're stuck. Perhaps we need to learn to pray with new strategies.
Session 4
Believe the Promises
As parents of prodigals, we focus on the promises of God.
Now comes the hard part—believing the promises God has given us. This is an active belief, requiring more than head knowledge about the Almighty. This involves believing that God is good, loving, and active in our child's life, even when we cannot see evidence of it.
