The Book of Revelation is full of mystery and wonder. It paints amazing pictures of what is to come. The purpose of this five-session study is to provide a biblical understanding of what death is and where it leads. The Bible provides several authoritative definitions of death and a convincing promise of an afterlife.
Session One
The Ultimate Statistic
The Bible's understanding of death differs dramatically from popular views in our culture.
Revelation 21
The purpose of this study is to provide a biblical understanding of what death is and where it leads. The Bible provides several authoritative definitions of death and a convincing promise of an afterlife.
Session Two
Is Heaven for Everyone?
All roads do not lead to heaven.
Revelation 20:11–15
The purpose of this study is to discover what the Bible says about who ends up in heaven, and how they can be sure to do so. The only guaranteed road to heaven is accepting the undeserved gift made possible through faith in Jesus Christ.
Session Three
The Other Place
Hell is the real, final destiny of those who reject God's love.
Revelation 20:11–15
This study will look at biblical answers to the following questions: Is hell real? What is hell like? and Why is hell necessary?
Session Four
Body and Soul
The temporary split of what makes humans human.
Revelation 20:4–6, 13
The purpose of this study is to provide a biblical understanding of what happens immediately after death, when the soul is temporarily separated from the body and consciously waits for the return of Jesus Christ.
Session Five
All Things New
Four biblical snapshots of heaven.
Revelation 19:6–8, 21:1–4
The purpose of this study is to explore these word pictures of heaven and determine how they influence our lives on Earth. Because Jesus has conquered death, Christians can center their earthly lives on his promises of what heaven will be like.
This Study Through the Bible Course is based on a sermon series by Timothy Peck.
