Overview
Teenagers are often viewed in our culture as "alien creatures, strange beings from another planet." Many books teach how to survive them, not enjoy them. Christian Smith, author of Soul Searching: The Religious and Spiritual Lives of American Teenagers(Oxford University Press, 2005) says one of the biggest areas of life where teens are unstudied and misunderstood is in their faith.
What is going on in the religious and spiritual lives of American teens? What do they really believe? In what ways is the church ill equipping teenagers? What will it take to better understand teens, learn how they think, and help them in their faith journeys? These are the questions we'll be asking and discussing in this study.
