Write the letters of the alphabet on small pieces of paper (1 letter per sheet) and allow your group members to choose 2 or 3 (depending on the size of your group) out of a hat.
Ask your group to think of the many attributes of God and to write one attribute that begins with the same letter that they chose.
Then, ask them to write on the piece of paper several things for which they are thankful that begins with the letter they chose.
After you have given several minutes to do that, ask them to share what they wrote by praising God for who He is and for the things He has so graciously given. Have them pray the letter "h" like this: "Lord, you are my haven in a storm, and I want to thank you for my home, for hope, for a hand up when I needed help, and for heaven that is to come."
After everyone has had a chance to pray that praise, ask your group to write one thing that begins with that same letter that they need from the Lord. Once again allow your group to pray that prayer of need. Pray something like: "Lord, I need a holiday."
Simply end your prayer time thanking God that He is not a far-away God who cares little for everyday affairs, but that He loves to hear our praises and to answer our prayers.
