Purpose: To help group members visualize the intense imagery from Zephaniah 3.
Supplies needed: You will need to make a variety of artistic materials available to group members for this activity—crayons, colored pencils, paper, Play Doh, pipe cleaners, and so on.
Activity: Explain that Zephaniah 3 is full of imagery that is both poignant and intense, and that you want group members to pay attention to particular images that move or impact them as you read.
Read Zephaniah 3 out loud (or ask for a volunteer who enjoys reading dramatically). Instruct the group to visually reproduce one of the images from that chapter that impacted them. Group members can use any combination of materials they would like, and there should be no boundaries on their creativity.
Allow 10-15 minutes for group members to work on their creation, and then allow a few minutes for those who would like to share and/or explain their work.
